Cricket has reached amazing popularity nowadays. It is not only getting famous as a sport, but it is also a delight for online punters as cricket betting is getting more and more popular. When it comes to International Cricket India is dominating the world for the past years. If we talk about the best cricketers of all time, then Indian players will top the list undoubtedly.

“He came, he conquered, he left” you must have understood which cricketer I’m going to talk about. India’s former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni or ‘mahi’ for the fans. Mahi started his international career in 2004 against Bangladesh and just two years after that in 2007 he became the Indian Captain for both T2Oi and ODIs. Dhoni is so popular that he gets dozens of advertisements as well, and we might see him as a brand ambassador for PSL betting sites like Viru did.

Dhoni started his career as a brutal hitter, he was known for his unorthodox cricketing shots and an amazing 6 hitting skill. Later, when he became captain, he changed his batting style, he hasn’t only demoted himself in the batting order, but also more focused on finishing the matches and adopted the role of a finisher. Dhoni was always a lucky man from the team’s perspective, he was so lucky that he would have won millions in BPL betting, if he wagered on it.

Dhoni in his career finished a lot of matches for the team and played some crucial innings in the ODIs which includes:

1. 2005–183* Against Sri Lanka in Jaipur

India was playing a 7-match ODI series against Sri Lanka in 2005, and eventually, it lost the first two ODIs, the third match was to be played in Sawai Madho Stadium at Jaipur. The Sri Lankan side scored 298 runs in 50 overs. Sangakara and Mahela Jayawardene both scored a hundred. The chase was going to be very tough as Dhoni came in at №3 after Sachin Tendulkar was departed to the pavilion. Dhoni absolutely thrashed the Lankan bowling attack as they had no answer for him. He did also get hurt while playing and then carried on his innings with a runner. He single-handedly won India the match with almost 4 overs remaining. It is the highest score by a wicketkeeper-batsman in ODIs.

2. 2011–91* Against Sri Lanka in Vankhede

This is his one of the best knocks in International Cricket. Maybe he didn’t score a hundred, but he did finish the match with an amazing 6 and brought the world cup home. There was immense pressure and things were not in control, we witnessed various ups and downs in the match. But, he played the captain’s knock and finished the job for his team.

3. 2005–148* Against Pakistan in Vishakhapatnam

First is always special, Dhoni scored his maiden ODI Century against Pakistan in 2005. India was playing a 6 match ODI series against Pakistan. In the second ODI Sachin was out cheap. Dhoni then came to bat and build good partnerships with Sehwag and Dravid and helped the side to get 356 in 50 overs. Pakistan was unable to chase down the big total.
